Hi I mentioned yesterday that since installing my PCI modem, my PC had screwed up and as a result, I can't hear any output from my CD drive unless i record it as a wav/aiff etc first. I uninstalled the software/device etc, took the modem out last night, and had a clean up of the drives etc just to tidy up, but monitoring CDs still doesn't work thru Cool Edit Pro or the soundcard player (Guillemot ISIS Logic card).
I also checked the cable from the CDrom was connected to the soundcard and it was, so not sure whats going on...real bummer for sampling tho as it only works from the inputs on the soundcard, not the internal player. I can't reinstall it tho cos I lost the software CD when we got burgled last September (no, honestly I did - it wasn't cracked), so short of spending �290 to check I am a bit stuck.
