Ta for the advice
I think Cool Edit has a 32bit option so i'll make sure its saved as a 44100,
32 bit stereo file on recording so its set up properly from the start and
ready for CD burning whenever the time arises...

Cheers

Dan

Personally, I route it so the sound is EQ'd and then compressed. To be
honest, I don't EQ too much anyway, just try and even out any dips or peaks
which I've noticed in the Spectrum analyse in Sound Forge.

It's best to make any changes to a .WAV in 32bit mode in Sound Forge and
then convert to 24 bit, to use the .WAV in T-Racks. In Sound Forge, I just
tend to clip the ends, reduce hiss within the intro and make sure I've not
got any worrying peaks or troughs in the frequencies.

I'm not too happy with the limiter within T-Racks; it's meant to be a band
limiter, but the frequencies are pre-defined and if you use this too much,
the mix can become muddy (especially the drums - I like my drums nice and
loud in the mix. I've noticed this quite a few times, where people have
mastered themselves, drums become saturated with the rest of the mix.). A
bit of experimenting though, will make your mix sound spot on, just don't
over do it in the pursuit of maximum loudness.

Stereo expander within the compression is v.good, again don't go overboard
with it though.
