This is off topic but I strongly feel the relevance to the scene.... We run a fortnightly 'breaks' nite in england I will not say where but we recently featured as one of mixmags top 5 nites of the month by their request. We have also recently started doing monthly d+b nites. So far the nite have all packed out with a 400 capacity with people even locked out. What annoys me is that all the breaks DJ's turn up on time and do the job they are CONTRACTED to do .....HOWEVER..... THE D+B DJ's do NOT seem to understand this.. One dj even turned up (admit he was on time) but after the money it cost to put the nite on any profit that was made was lost due to him booking lots of extra costs to our hotel account that were not agreed on in the contract, .....AND HE TURNED UP IN A SPORTS CAR COSTING MORE THAN 150.000 POUNDS !!!!!!!!!!! TWO OTHERS TURN UP 45 MINUTES LATE INTO A 90 MINUTE SET AND CANT PLAY LATER COS ITS ONLY TIL 2am
It make me wonder why I bother putting on the only d+b nite for 100 miles, I dont do it for the money but I still get grief from the crowd for the Dj's being late and costing too much 8 (eight pound to get in) and we get nailed for a grand for the club cos its the only one around that will do anything other than chart music.. If it goes on the scene will flush down the pan!! Sort it out please!!! :-( --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
