Those attitudes are easy to understand when you realize that DJs are people who don't
have to get up until the afternoon, only work 1 or 2 nights a week, and don't have to
be anywhere near sober to do their jobs.  Not surprisingly, a lot of people who want
nothing to do with responsibility whatsoever are attracted to it, especially as a
full time profession.

It's definately not restricted to any one genre either.  Here in the Midwest US,
prominent techno DJ Terry Mullin was booked 5 times in the past 2 years in my state
or one bordering it.  After not showing up 4 times in a row, he finally deemed us
worthy of his presence on the 5th, though why anyone around here kept booking him
after the 2nd no show is beyond me.
