I will try to mimic the human imperfections when hitting the drums... though
we're using the same sample for all ther kicks, I'll use slighly different
velocities, decay, pitch and filter, ... some very subtle panning...
I'll also use "break sounding" samples, with an acoustic feel ... samples of
existing breaks will do. Then try to mix them adjusting the EQ and pitch to
achieve a common sound, 'cos we don't want a break that seems a collection
of very diferent pieces of other breaks  (though it may be the case! :-)

Maybe some shuffling, beats hitting slightly early or late, will help, too.
Also compresing the whole break will add some variety to the amplitudes (a
multiband compressor could help even more).

In any case, in my opinion, we can't beat the feel an original break! an
there are hundreds out there, unused and waiting for us to find them!
