i would recomend you the 01v... which is like a devoleped concept of the
ProMix.
has dinamics for All channels, good Fx, full 4 band parametric EQ, Great i/o
options, have different mixes for monitoring (rec mode), and lots of etcs.
at a Very reasonable price.
Mackie 1604 is almost a mistake. Expensive and fairly useless, compared to
Digital desks.
If you want to go analogue without compromising your future, you must be
ready to spend ALOT more that just a 1604. Small Mackies are good for they
pre-amps, nothing that cannot be covered with some outboard pre (you can
even go valve for a fraction of the price).
One thing... trust your ears and your budget... Go digital, mate.

blue from streetbeats does EVERYTHING thru an pro 1.....
his sound certainly does not sound like pure ass.......
some of the best mixdowns i ever heard in d&b or otherwise have come
