I've been putting off off asking this question for some time... will buying a new soundcard give my pc more power in the plug-ins departement? i'm using a p4 1.7 256mb with an inbuilt card on the motherboard. i use sx for midi (with a yamaha ux256) and vst-is. what can i do to get better performance without too much $$$? I have tweaked everything loads, but i don't use standard pc mode anymore as it was give me sh*t.
