I kinda guessed that it was the laptop's transformer that was the source of the undesired noise. I might try to find one [with the same specs, from another maker] that is shielded and then use the connector from the end of the old one to plug up to my laptop. Luckily enough, I think it is something that Dell will fix in the future with their new laptops and then make it available to us. I will definately give them my complaint. For now, when I am recording samples or vocals, I disconnect the power supply and use battery power to prevent the noise, but I guess my mixes will have to be recorded on to my desktop PC.
