I dont see Kontakt on that list. I havent really used it yet, but that is
supposed to be the bizz. Can XS-1 be used a a plug in for Cubase and LAP or
is it a buzz device only?

Subject: [dnb-prod] analysis : sound quality of software samplers

I remember the discussions on how Fruity Loops and Reason where accused of
rendering poor
audio. Lately I'm using Buzz a lot, and I happened to come across this
analysis of
software samplers by the creator of Buzz itself, since the man as writen his
own software
sampler called XS-1.

After comparing different samplers, he comes up with this result:

1. Jeskola XS-1
2. Fruityloops (non-realtime)
3. Creative SB Live (hardware)
4. Sonic Syndicate Orion Platinum
5. Propellerhead Reason
6. Matilde Tracker (a Buzz sampler)
7. Steinberg Halion
8. Emagic EXSP24

See for yourself @ http://jeskola.net/xs1/test/
More about the sampler you'll find @ http://jeskola.net/xs1/

have fun,
J.
