While on the subject, is anybody using dual athlon MP system for there studio? I'm guessing with the realtime CPU load the vst effects produce that it would help a great deal.

I went P4 1.8 last time and got screwed with that expensive rambus ram crap, god was i dumb. I mapped out the other day that my best deal for power on a new system right this second would be one of those tiger dual athlon boards and the fastest proccessor for the 266 bus, dual 2400 MP chips, and heap of cheap 2100 RAM. I may hold out for the next core athlons or more likely, the next level of dual boards. Oh, another important idea in regards to building new systems, I'm deffinately all about getting the new serial harddrives for increased bandwidth.

anyone know of any dual athlon boards faster than 266 buss?
