Fairly simple stuff, but... You need a dual head/monitor graphics card installed in your PC first (�60-70 minimum).
People generally use two monitors to try have a much better chance of seeing the masses of information that the latest sequencers will display once you have a combination of sequencer, soft synths, audio editors, soft samplers etc running all at once (esp VST based studios). Its handy for running the sequencer arrangment window on one screen and a sampler editor eg Halion, EXS24 etc on the other screen. Its all up to the user tho... If i only had a PC and a VST based studio (no hardware) i couldn't imagine trying to do it any other way (rack studios are a little easier as you only generally need to view the midi info when writing tunes)...
