"Angsty" indeed. Dont be afraid to open the curtains every once in a while and let some sunshine in. =)
Thats said, it's good to to see someone that remembers that music should be tied to emotion. trust -----Original Message----- From: Andy Abang [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, February 03, 2003 3:40 PM To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: Innocence lost - concept album Basically about how society destroys man. "simple things" is pretty lighthearted. as you go down the tracklist each tune will get darker and more bitter or angry or sad. i have skeletal ideas for 8 or 9 of the 12 tracks at the moment. kind of inspired by the way i view my own life and how i see it paralleled in many of my friends, even if they seem okay. we start out pure and innocent, beautiful carnal beings. and as we further integrate ourselves into society, our innocence is replaced with hatred, or materialism, or preoccupation with trivial and damaging things. if we don't know to be aware of it our inquisitive nature is replaced with acceptance, passivity, blind belief in religious dogma and/or social mores. i feel that society robs us of many of the things that make us human. maybe this is just how life is here, in CA and the states, but i would tend to think other countries would have similar problems. at least those with puritanical values so deeply engrained in their social structure(s). (i'm an angsty person. ;D so that's where i'm comin from.) > -----Original Message----- > From: Trust [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Monday, February 03, 2003 6:49 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: Innocence lost - concept album > > > What's the concept for the album? > > -----Original Message----- > From: Andy Abang [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Monday, February 03, 2003 10:48 AM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Innocence lost - concept album > > > I've just started work on a concept album.
