Although it has litrely taken me years to come up with my first good
d'n'b tone.

i hear you, it took me a crazy long time to before my tunes were decent enough for me to feel somewhat confident about.

Check it out and tell me what you think. Here's the link:

i like the atmospherics on this one, sets up a nice mood. as for mixdown i think the levels need a little work... i want the drums *way* up front, they have a nice sound, but are lost in the wash of ambience. remember that dnb will be heard LOUD so ambience that feels a little quiet in the mix in your bedroom will come out more in the clubs. i also want more sub bass... i can barely hear it... i think i like whats goin on down there, but i can't really tell :) i'm not too wild about the downbeat horn hits going on around 4:20, though i understand what you are trying to do.
the "the sky is looking very dark outside" is kind of a rough sample, i think it has too much in the mid ranges, sounds like you are bandpassing the sample? you might like the tibre that way, i think it needs to be a little quieter at any rate.

good stuff, keep postin 'em :)
