this sounds really nice!! your bass sounds are wicked here. drums sound nice and clean. i can't want to hear it with the drum turnarounds and whatnot although even without them it sounds good.
My critique of this tune: - it sounds really fast (but then, i write tunes at 170 so that speed is stuck in my head so i couldn't technically consider this a legitimate gripe) - the drop didn't particularly grab me (not much dramatic effect) - gets repetitive around 4 minutes because there aren't many different parts to the song the overall energy level remains the same, i think it would sound better if there was more of a build up to the bass stuff. IMO you could get away with the repetition if you used a more varied palate of timbres and changed the melody of your pads. other melodic elements would hlep as well. but anyway. take that all with a grain of salt. ultimately I liked it. :) ~Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: Josh Steiner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 1:08 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] wooh haaaa, got a new tune for your listening > pleasure > > > hey hey, just got this new tune in a mostly-finished state, i'd love to > hear your opinions before i dig back into it for the final mixdown: > > http://vitriolix.com/tunes/Vitriolix_-_2_Much.mp3 > > i am *most pleased* with the bass on this tune :) > > anyhow, i've got a short todo left for this one before i call it "done" > ... mostly i need to make a couple new drum turnarounds and i wanted to > come up with a few new hat patterns to pull in and out to keep the drums > varied... but the big one is that i'm busy digging around for some > suitable kung fu samples, but i'm having terrible luck... if you guys > have any pointers to any good kung fu sound efx sample cd's or web > sites, i'd love the info. > > later, > > -josh > > btw, my "whistler" tune is slightly more complete now, i'll > probably finish it one of these days but i consider it mostly a > joke tune so its not high on my priority list: > http://vitriolix.com/vitriolix_-_whistler_%28barely_started_2003.02.17%29.mp 3 ____________________________________________________ independent u.s. drum'n'bass -- http://vitriolix.com --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
