You need: 1) a keyboard with a midi out and a soundcard with a MIDI in 2) to connect these with a midi cable (haha yes i am captain obvious... sorry ;D) 3) under one of the menu choices there's something like "enable MIDI remote" or "enable keyboard remote" or something - have this checked so it's on 4) go to edit -> preferences - MIDI settings - and make sure your sound card with MIDI input is displayed where it asks for the source of your MIDI.
That should work. otherwise, consult the help file. :) ~Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: Johnson, Matthew [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 8:41 AM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Using a keyboard to control Reason > > > Hi folks, > further to my other posts about Reason, > I will be purchasing a cheapy keyboard in the near future. > I was going to look on eBay and in the local free-ads to see if there was > one going cheaper than cheap! > would I need any software to set it up, or do I just plug it in the midi > connection of my soundcard and voila?!!! > I tried using the software 'keyboard' that came with my soundcard > to control > reason but could not get it working. > > any help would be appreciated. > thanks, > > Matt > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jimbo's Drunk again [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 4:25 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: Mackie d8b > > > get the UAD and mastering plugins for it. the compressor is > fucking awesome. > > make sure you've got a good ADAT soundcard to compliment the D8B and some > good monitors.
