Dear List,
I was wondering if anyone else has used this technique?  Recording a sound from a digital source to an ordinary cassette tape recorder then recording it back into the digital device.  Cause there's some nasty distortion/compression that can be achieved on those machines.  It really turns a cold, dry digital sound into a warm analog sounding one.  Running drum loops and bass works really well.  However the one problem is that the compression is so strong that running drums and bass together gets pretty squashed and stupid sounding.  This was really cool to find out, and all I was trying to do was play some real audio files on my stereo!!!
