It's fairly difficult. Probably the best thing you can do is find the
frequency on which the vocals sit and lower the gain of all other
frequencies or cut them altogether. I find that a combination of EQ and
filtering can achieve this satisfactorily.

For instance, when I remixed Orbital's "Halcyon & On & On" and
Telepopmusik's "Breathe", I ran some vocal parts that had a beat through a
low pass filter, adjusting it so that vocals were audible and clear but the
low end was sort of muffled, and then cutting the gain of the lower
frequencies with an EQ so the vocals stood out more clearly.

The only thing you can hope to do from that point is to mask any remaining
sounds by making parts of your tune that overshadow the remains.
