DJ's yes, but the crowd? I don't mind hearing a mix of styles on a night out myself. But it's a fact that DJ's are already starting to stick pretty close to a single subgenre in dnb when they spin. It's a pitty in a way, cause this summer I saw a few DJ's playing "breakz", and they played tunes from breakz artists, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, and a few drum'n'bass artist all mixed into one set, it doesn't mix as well with all the different BPM's of course, but it was surely fun to hear > And come on, how many times recently have you heard people slagging off > "clownstep" (basically the new term for jump-up), an entire "sub-genre" of > drum n bass. the whole clownstep thing is kinda silly indeed, it seems to be the word to use when someone dislikes a tune, I've seen em call Dilli tunes clownstep lately :/ > Also, there's the whole "Mc" scene, which I suspect is predominently a UK > but is basically becoming a scene in it's own right.
