It doesn't work for me. I have:
---
thread_in false
ihave_access true
---

in dnews.conf

and

---
newsgate.cistron.nl:ihave:::*:con=1
---

in access.conf

The strange thing is that max_in=100000 works well if it is put there.

Thanks,

That should work I think, send me a tellnews status showing the extra connections and your access.conf and I'll run a test here to see if I can replicate the problem.

Option :con=2 doesn't seem to work with me. I'm running dmulti with thread_in

false in dnews.conf. Any suggestion?

Set in dnews.conf
        ihave_access "true"
that tells dnews to apply access.conf rules regarding speed to feed channels.
I think that will fix it.

Hi,

The max_in and con settings should limit this. Leave thread_in false, and set 'max_speed 5000'. This is the global per-connection input limit.

is there anyway to limit the # of connections or speed on a specific
incoming feed ? I've tried putting :con=2,max_in=5000 in it's
access.conf entry and restarting the server.

Is there a global way to limit the max # of connections from any
user/incoming feed?

BTW, in dnews.conf, I have the following settings which might
conceivably effect this:

                        thread_in false
                        ihave_access true
                        loglvl info
                        access_forward true
                        dns_check true
                        cachedall true
spam_stop true plus additional spam settings
                        inpaths true
                        cancel_disable true
                        control_me true

I'm taking a full text feed from several sources, plus selected
binaries. Unfortunately, some peers send you ALL their local posts
even if they are in binary groups that are supposed to be blocked.
