No not at this time, dnewsweb is more or less frozen, enhancements are more likely in the webnews component of surgenews, however it currently uses a different model to display discussions which doesn't add structure at the 'thread' level but rather just displays the thread in a single page for quick reading on the assumption that there may not be any actual structure to the thread.
At this time there are no plans to change this behaviour sorry.
