1) In my WORK dir i have some .del file. Can I delete normally
this file?
Can you give an example file name. I can't find any files that
should be in that directory except the expire.del file, which
could be deleted yes.
Hi Chris (and many thanks)
e.g:
DB_1.DEL DB2_2.DEL
Can I remove regolarry this file? Is possible to remove automatically this file with a config set or tellnews command or simple i can delete with DELETE DOS function?
Those files should only exist in the spool areas, they are a record of deleted items within a bucket, you can delete them but if you do then deleted items may reappear.
2) The expire_lost_buckets TRUE delete automatically the .del
file in the work directory or is not his function?
No, that deletes db*.itm files that are not listed in the index of
bucket files.
do you me councils/advice this set as default in dnews.conf?
No, it's dangerous, the default action is for dnews to add the missing buckets back into the index.
if I stop the dnews server and delete this file, to the successive one start it comes recreated?
That's normal, don't delete it :-)
7) Can i take a improvment performance with I use this Set
BODY_CHUNK and BIG_SIZE at large value? If yes, you recommends
this for a system with DMULTI, too?
You might get a slight improvement yes. body_check 9000000
dody_check or body_chunk?
ooops, I meant "body_chunk"
