Hi, the first thing you need to do is to upgrade your yahoo account to
"Yahoo! Mail Plus" so that it will
allow a pop login.
Then configure dmod to read that account.
Frankly I think you are wasting your time trying to create an alt moderated
group, local moderated groups
are reasonable but 'public' alt moderated groups require a lot of servers to
join in before you have anything useful. I don't think you are going to
succeed. I think you would be better off creating a blog or yahoo group than
a news group. (but maybe I"m wrong)

Subject: DMod Help
Thank you very much for the development of the interface software, I am a
complete newbie so I need some help ASAP.....some background:
I had a moderated alt NG created recently, and as a result of my own
ignorance during the creation process I established both the moderator and
article submission facilities as Yahoo email accounts, needless to say
without the use of your interface moderator functions cannot be
accomplished through Yahoo. The alt NG is not available through all
servers {or even most} right now but I can access it through X News or my
ISP allows addition of other news servers which I have located a server
that carries the group and have it added to my ISP account. I have
downloaded the DMod software but again, through my own ignorance am unable
to configure it correctly because I keep getting a log in ERR, it is my
sincerest hopes that if i provide you with the information below you can
advise where it needs to go.
INFORMATION
Name of moderated news group:
alt.hvac.pro-series.moderated
Article submit address for NG:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Moderator address for NG:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
NewsServer that group is available on:
buckaroo.cs.rit.edu
My POP:
pop.bluemarble.net
My SMPT:
mail.bluemarble.net
My address at the ISP:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
I think I have effectively set-up the header information for approval, can
you please help me get the DMod to interface with the Yahoo address to let
me start moderation responsibilities? Thank you very much.
Respectfully,
TBerlin

PS:
If it is pertinent I can also access the alt NG through XNews.
