I still have Wheezy myself. Given what has been going on with Debian,
I've taken it on myself in the past to backport packages from testing
and unstable when absolutely needed. This included an update to
PulseAudio because on certain chipsets, PA is a serious PITA. I could
have fixed it in other ways, but patching or reconfiguring PA 2 used on
Wheezy just seemed like a bandaid on a broken leg. Backporting PA 4
made the problems just "go away"
