agreed,
to my experience, cross compilation using qemu-arm-static in an armhf chroot inside an amd64 host (Asus Vivobook S200 i3 1,4GHz 4GB RAM and Debian Wheezy) is a lot faster than working direct into rpi B, same feelings working inside UDOO quad and BPI
