Not a "halfway state". The EGL base system is now built from (devuan-) debootstrap.
My apologies. A quick but inaccurate summary of recent activity. I've installed EGL on three machines machines without any problems, but am still sorting out minor issues of my own.
A real pleasure to find myself back in an old favourite desktop, but now with the whole Debian repo available.
