As explained in this thread, it is enough to change the packaging to
eliminate dependencies on *systemd*, pass --without-systemd to configure,
remove dh_systemd and adjust debian/rules to not fail on missing systemd
crap.  In fact, among all packages I've deinfested, only upower and
acpi-support require changes beyond packaging.

I guess this will hit Devuan soon -- but, as the subject suggests, I guess
you run Debian.  If so, I've put this into my repository:

deb http://angband.pl/debian nosystemd-stretch main
deb-src http://angband.pl/debian nosystemd-stretch main
