OK, sorry, my postscript is very rusty, and I know that the more
knowledgeable of you will probably be horrified by it, but thanks to
the suggestions given by Erik and Nelson I eventually came up with a
solution to my old "make a ps document that shows an original random
walk every time it is opened". The file is attached. It works with GNU
Ghostscript:

  $ gs myrw.ps

but it doesn't work with gv, since I guess gv forbids filesystem
access from within the script. Fair enough. The idea is quite stupid,
but it does the job ;)

Thanks everybody for this quite unexpected "diversion", which reminded
me how much I liked writing postscript ;)
