I often have difficulty with correct terminology despite having a very definite idea.
The term 'Installer' applies to the first stage actions taken outside of the package manager such as partitioning, formatting, bootloader and kernel... which actually make the build host bootable. There 'may' be other steps in addition (e.g SSH), but that will be up to the individual performing the build. Can anybody identify any issue with chrooting a shell onto the installed media 'before' reboot to allow for manual changes (e.g. apt-get) should the builder wish ? But then there is the second stage, language selection, keyboard map selection, fit for purpose package selection...any of these may change in the future. So far I have been using the terms 'customise' and 'configure' but neither of these terms sit well with me. Does anybody have a better suggestion for naming the second stage ? _______________________________________________ Dng mailing list Dng@lists.dyne.org https://mailinglists.dyne.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dng
