Dear DNS-Operations Community,

I’m reaching out on behalf of Real Estate Domains LLC, the registry operator
for the .realtor™ top-level domain, regarding an issue we’re encountering with
name resolution on certain .realtor™ domains—specifically failures when using
OpenDNS (Cisco Umbrella) resolvers.

Over the past week, we’ve received multiple reports from customers indicating
that some .realtor™ domains (for example, hlaor.realtor) are failing to resolve
through OpenDNS, while resolving normally across most other major recursive
resolvers, including Google Public DNS, Cloudflare, and Quad9.

Our technical team, along with our registry services provider (Nominet), has
confirmed that:

  * The registry and authoritative name servers are correctly configured and
responding consistently.
  * DNSSEC is not enabled for these domains.
  * The issue appears limited to specific recursive resolvers within OpenDNS,
suggesting a potential caching or validation inconsistency.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate a direct escalation path or
contact within Cisco/OpenDNS for this type of resolver-level issue. We’re
therefore seeking guidance from this community to:

  1. Identify anyone at Cisco/OpenDNS who could assist in reviewing their
resolver behavior for the .realtor™ TLD; or
  2. Recommend any next steps we can take to ensure resolution of this issue
as quickly as possible.

Thank you in advance for any advice or introductions you can provide.
I greatly appreciate this community’s expertise and collaboration.

Best regards,
Matthew Embrescia
