Hmm - I rather like the ability to type
"ssh strange"
instead of
"ssh strange.home.langhorst.com "
Is there some way support that shorthand other than via a search line
in /etc/resolv.conf? Or do I misunderstand what you mean by "search"?
In .ssh/config
Host strange
Hostname strange.home.langhorst.com
That's much more limited than the DNS search method, but it doesn't have
the unwanted side-effects.
