To be clear, Eliot, you're not suggesting that these topics shouldn't be 
discussed here, right?

High-bandwidth face-to-face conversations over beer in the shadow of a 
collapsing quasi-imperial government are no doubt valuable, but it'd be a shame 
if anybody not travelling there interpreted comments about London to mean that 
their opinions aren't welcome.
