Hmm, deleting whole extension and installing the plugin back seems sorted the 
problem, now. Running 2.1.2 with no issues. Weird. Sorry for confusion.

Try to manually delete the whole extension. You should find it in your
home directory:
~/Library/Application
Support/Firefox/Profiles/XXXXXXXXXX/extensions/[email protected]
where XXXXXXXXXX stands for the profile identifier.

Quit the browser by right-click on the dock icon. Then delete the
[email protected] extension directory with all its content. Then start
Firefox again. Try then installing the new extension. Let me know about
the result.
