Purged plugins again, and this time worked for me. I tried entering in
my login twice; the first time rejected them; the second time accepted
them and the Twitter plugin finally worked. Now gnome keyring has the
account data as well.

I guess this is going to be an invalid bug now. But if you're still
curious, on both versions of the Twittter plugin, the username/password
fields would remain populated with data, and I could click "Validate"
with that data. It would either result in (1) rejection of the valid
credentials (this happened for a while before the above-listed behavior
even happened), or (2) acceptance of the credentials but the above-
listed behavior.

Like I said, it works for me now, but maybe this will have put you on to
something that can help you, or that other users might be having
problems with. Thanks for the great work!
