Public bug reported:
Contacts are currently pulled up only by their aliases. While this is
desirable, sometimes contacts' aliases are changed by the contacts and
the only way you can recall the contact is via their Username/Email.
This is currently not possible.
Not sure what the solution would be. Indexing by both alias and
username/email leads to doubling of the index for contacts. Any ideas?
