Subject: big news from Generation Net and MoveOn.org

It give me great pleasure to announce that Generation Net is joining forces
with MoveOn.org.

The two entities are now administratively combined, under the name
MoveOn.org.

MoveOn.org achieved prominence in the field of on-line organizing with its
campaign to "censure President Clinton and Move On," which generated a
million emails and an estimated 250,000 phone calls to Congress. The
organization currently has more than 250,000 email subscribers.

MoveOn.org is an issue-oriented, national, nonpartisan, nonprofit
organization giving people a voice in shaping the laws that affect our
lives. MoveOn.org engages people in the civic process, using the Internet
to democratically determine a non-partisan agenda, raising public awareness
of pressing issues, and coordinating grassroots advocacy campaigns to
encourage sound public policies.

MoveOn.org's members have chosen Campaign Finance Reform and Protection of
the Environment as top priority issues for the current cycle, in an open,
democratic process conducted at the MoveOn.org website. Generation Net's
members also identified these two issues as top priorities, in a generally
similar process conducted at its website. In addition to these two issues,
MoveOn.org will also prioritize an international or foreign policy issue to
be determined by its members.

MoveOn.org's charitable activities are fiscally sponsored by the San
Francisco Foundation Community Initiative Funds, a nonprofit organization
under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Generation Net would like to take this opportunity to gratefully acknowledge
a recent grant of $2,500 from the Dylan Todd Simonds Charitable Foundation,
which helped make this combination possible. We would also like to thank
the outgoing Board members of Generation Net, whose help since our founding
has been invaluable: Stacey Abrams, Adina Berrios, Ross Decker, Magda
Escobar, Jonathan Kim, Stephanie Jowers, Hilary McQuaide, Susan Thomas, and
James Treworgy.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further information.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Schurman
