I don't really know the history of your contacts with Evolution developers nor the content of your exchanges, but while reading your email I was tempted to advice you some thing: try to be less aggressive, more diplomatic ;-) I think telling the developers '...it's the whole app from a GUI perspective that is screwed' will make it difficult to have any cooperation from them. I don't use Evolution, but AFAIK it's a good app except from this bug. In their position I'll be somewhat offended...
