DOCBOOK-APPS: Footnote line-spacing is too large

Hi,

(My apologies if this has been asked before.)

I've got DocBook putting <footnote>s at the bottom of pages successfully, 
but for some reason the line-spacing is huge. How can I set the line 
spacing to some "normal" value?
