produces: Sir. Israel Gollancz
The . inserted automatically may be OK for Dr. or Prof., but is
definitely
out of place with Sir. Why not omit the . and use
<honorific>Dr.</honorific> when a . is required.
You can suppress that period by setting an empty value for the
punct.honorific parameter -
