I'm proposing that support for the Passivetex XSL-FO processor in the XSL stylesheets
be discontinued. When the DocBook XSL project was just getting started, Passivetex
was one of two free XSL-FO processors (FOP was the other). Passivetex never fully
implemented the standard, development ceased about 8 years ago, and its author
admitted it was mostly a proof-of-concept project. The DocBook XSL stylesheets have a
'passivetex.extensions' parameter, which is mostly used to compensate for and
workaround the things it does not support. Today, FOP does a much better job, and is
supported.
So I wanted to ask the mailing list if anyone is using it, and needs to continue using
it. If not, we will be removing the 'passivetex.extensions' param and all the code
that references it.
