The primary reason for this work is to get rid of fop as a dependency to create pdfs. As far as I'm aware, at this point there is a single (Free) processor that can handle XSLT 2.0, so overall the situation wouldn't be much better for the purpose of helping the FreeBSD community to move to an XSL-based DB processing flow.
