The new meta element isn’t allowed in very many places. It’s a child of
info (and a few bibliographic elements), to provide generic metadata.
Having a generic element means users don’t have to resort to tag abuse
of, for example, bibliomisc, as I have so often done.

Yes, it allows content, and you can put pretty much anything you want in
it, but it’s not a general sort of container for anything. It’s supposed
to be metadata.

What would the use case be for nested meta elements?
