Bug ID: 58948
Summary: http://httpd.apache.org/: "We hope that [...] that we
will be able [...]"
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.5-HEAD
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: Documentation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
http://httpd.apache.org/ contains:
>We hope that by making it easier to use our mirrors that we will be able to
>provide a better download experience.
There is an extra "that" there. Either:
>By making it easier to use our mirrors, we hope that we will be able to
>provide a better download experience.
...or:
>We hope that by making it easier to use our mirrors, we will be able to
>provide a better download experience.
Though this whole section is superfluous:
>Great! We have updated our download page in an effort to better utilize our
>mirrors. We hope that by making it easier to use our mirrors that we will be
>able to provide a better download experience.
>Please ensure that you verify your downloads using PGP or MD5 signatures
Whatever effort this refers to is more than 3 years old. As for the second
paragraph, it is superfluous given that the download page already contains:
>You must verify the integrity of the downloaded files using signatures
>downloaded from our main distribution directory.
The only thing still valuable in this section is the link to the download page,
but even that might not be necessary given the links in the announcements and
in the left menu.
