 My point is, from an object oriented point of view the class should
 definitely be abstract. I don't want to be able to instantiate fruits,
 still I may want to have classes which are able to deal with any of them
 (mixer, tree, fork ... :-). Doctrine allows me to persist objects in the
 database, but it shouldn't affect the architecture of my application, so
 IMO this is definitely a bug.

 Is it fixable at all?
