Title: Please improve documentation on generating SSL certificates Status in Ubuntu Server Guide: Confirmed Status in “ubuntu-docs” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs It would be great of someone could improve the documentation on generating SSL certificates for common use cases. Currently the text: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/certificates-and-security.html Instead of:"It will prompt you enter the passphrase. If you enter the correct passphrase, it will prompt you to enter Company Name, Site Name, Email Id, etc. Once you enter all these details, your CSR will be created and it will be stored in the server.csr file. " I would suggest:"It will prompt you enter the passphrase. If you enter the correct passphrase, it will prompt you to enter Company Name, Site Name, Email Id, etc. Enter the corresponding data depending on the usage of the certificate. For example SSL certificates would typically expect the host name as the Common Name. Once details are entered, your CSR will be created and it will be stored in the server.csr file. " It would also be greate if someone with more experience could also add (links? notes?) on how certificates for VPN's or libvirt TLS are generated.
