Public bug reported: I was very confused why my swap file wasn't working after I followed instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq#How_do_I_add_a_swap_file.3F
The problem was that the instructions mostly say 1GiB but then also have a line (which I blindly copied-and-pasted) that said 4GiB instead. In the section "Example of making a swap file", this line needs to be fixed: $ echo '/mnt/4GiB.swap swap swap defaults 0 0' | sudo tee -a /etc/fstab ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Documentation Packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-docs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786996 Title: Important typo in "How do I add a swap file?" instructions Status in ubuntu-docs package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I was very confused why my swap file wasn't working after I followed instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq#How_do_I_add_a_swap_file.3F The problem was that the instructions mostly say 1GiB but then also have a line (which I blindly copied-and-pasted) that said 4GiB instead.
