You have filed a bug against the desktop documentation, but what you write has nothing to do with that. Apparently you are seeking support, so I recommend you to try at e.g. <https://askubuntu.com>.

Screen rotated to the right. I have followed all the Desktop Guide Settings but the change the resolution or rotation when clicked on takes me back to Desktop Settings Displays and Screen. It then requires that I click on Activities which when I do, it takes me back to the Activities overview..I type in Display and it takes me back to the list with Display and Screen. I click on that and the same steps come up. I never get a screen to restore the rotation. I have found a screen at one point where I can change resolution but it does not have the ability to change the rotation. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED. I have gone in circles for over a half hour.. or more..upgraded from 16.04 9-15-18. Turned off computer over night and when after booting up, screen automatically rotated clockwise and I am currently unable to restore to it's proper position. This computer is a HP G7 AMD Chip 17.3" laptop. Your pkgname instruction doesn't work in the terminal. I am getting a very stiff neck having to hold my head sideways to access the computer.. I am so angry... I knew I should have remained on 16.04.. how do I reverse the install without destroying apps and data???
