Howdy Dave I just now tried the latest release of the extension (ver 1.4.2) with 6.2Alpha1 and you are correct it fails searching for a character style. Also, just now, tried that extension with 6.1.3 -> 5.4.7 (all using Ubuntu 18.04) and it works fine for character style searches.
Are you sure the extension is no longer maintained?
