Dear developers, If you have contributed to Dolibarr and well updated copyright header, into modified files, with your name and email, you should have received an email notifying you intend to update the license of Dolibarr to GPL v2 to v3.
However, the update of the header with copyright could be forgotten, so to inform all developer, I republish the email, already sent to individual developers, onto the Dolibarr development mailing list. Thank you to tell us if you have developed code into Dolibarr and have not received the information individually. Ce passage a plusieurs avantage : - Bénéficier d'une version de texte de licence plus récente. - Bénéficier d'une version de texte de licence plus claire (de nombreuses ambiguïtés ont été levées). - Résoudre des problèmes de compatibilité de licence entre Dolibarr et certaines librairies requises par Dolibarr (par exemples les dépendances à des librairies en licence Apache qui ne sont compatible qu'avec la v3 et non la v2). Au moment de vos travaux, les sources, que vous avez codées et diffusées, l'ont été sous licence GPL v2 ou +, ce qui signifie que rien ne s'oppose à un passage en GPL v3. Toutefois ayant pu raté quelque chose (mauvaise mis à jour de l'entête des fichiers dans lesquels vous avez contribuez), nous vous sollicitons, à la fois pour vous informer, et pour avoir votre retour si il s'avérait que votre contribution n'ait pas été faite dans le cadre de la licence GPLv2 ou +. Si tel est le cas, votre retour est souhaitée avant le 31 janvier 2013, en nous précisant la nature de la contribution et ce qui s'opposerait au passage de GPL v2 en v3. La question du passage en licence AGPL v3 a aussi été posée. Toutefois, la licence AGPL étant plus contraignante que la licence GPL, l'accord de 100% des développeurs est requis pour permettre ce passage. Aussi, bien que peu probable (car il faudrait que 100% des contributeurs répondent favorablement), votre retour sur votre accord ou non pour passer en AGPL est aussi attendue. A défaut de réponse, nous considérerons que vous ne souhaitez pas que vos contributions soient diffusées sous AGPL, mais que le code dont vous êtes auteur doit rester dans sa licence souhaitée à l'origine, soit la GPL. However we may have missed something (bad update of the header files in which you contribute for example), so we ask you, to both inform you and to have your feedback if your contributions were not developped to be distributed under GPL license. If this is the case, your return is desired before January 31th, 2013, by specifying the nature of the contribution and which oppose the passage of GPL v2 to v3. The question of migration to AGPL v3 license was also raised. However, the AGPL license is more restrictive than the GPL, and a 100% agreement of all developers is required to enable this. So, your return on your consent or not to switch to AGPL is also expected. If no response, we will assume you do not want your contributions are distributed under AGPL, but the code you are an author must remain in its desired license to origin or the GPL.
