I am getting them too and just reporting them as spam through the normal
abuse channels.

I gave not seen an email based domain scam for a long time and I hope they
are not back or spam filters will start filtering our renewal notices again.
Many still block anything that mentions domain names.
We have a cunning way round it (an email containing one link to a special
web page with the email on it) but its not ideal and should not be
necessary.
ABout twice a week I have to send a letter in the post because emaiul will
not get to a customer.
Email is becoming very unreliable and its people like this we have to blame
for it.
