I'm glad they took the time to make a nice, ascii-windowed install program. Perhaps they could have spent some time on having the install script set the correct permissions ? It's in the documentation.
Of course, the documentation gives an e-mail address to send questions -- that immediately responds with a different address. Ah -- which then tells you to, maybe, fill out a form. If anyone has Zend running on Solaris Sparc / Apache 1.3.33 / Php 5.0.4 -- let me know how you did it.
